For those residing in South West London, several triathlon clubs offer excellent training opportunities; we have featured them in more detail below. Most of the below clubs offer free taster sessions, meaning you can go along and tri a few clubs before joining one that feels right for you and your goals. Thames Turbo Triathlon Club (Hampton)

Established in 2012, Thames Turbo is based at Hampton Swimming Pool. The club offers

year-round training sessions in all triathlon disciplines for both adults and juniors. They host an annual sprint triathlon and a junior aquathlon, providing members with opportunities to compete and improve their skills. The Thames Turbo sprint triathlon is arguably the best triathlon in the universe! Wimbledon Windmilers (Wimbledon)

Located in Wimbledon, this club welcomes athletes of all abilities and has a strong, inclusive community spirit. They offer a wide range of structured training sessions throughout the week, including track workouts at Wimbledon Park, long social runs, hill sessions, and brick sessions during triathlon season. The club is active year-round and provides coached and uncoached options, making it flexible for varying goals and schedules. Our very own Dave Ashton is their swim coach!

Optima Racing Team is a London-based triathlon club catering to all abilities, from beginners to elite athletes. Founded in 2000 by head coach James Beckinsale, the club offers structured training sessions and has a strong emphasis on individual coaching. They have their own training facility in Kew, providing a unique environment for athletes. The club is known for its competitive spirit, having won the London League multiple times despite being one of the smallest clubs in the competition. The head coach James has also written the best triathlon training guide money can buy and coached members to the Olympics and World Champs.

Founded in 2006, Viceroys is a friendly and inclusive club catering to all abilities. They offer

coached swim sessions at Shepperton Lake, track sessions at Xcel Leisure Centre, and trail

runs in Surrey. Many members have gone on to represent Great Britain at age-group level,

and the club fosters a supportive community atmosphere. Kingfisher Triathletes (Kingston)

Based in Kingston upon Thames, this club provides a friendly and supportive environment for triathletes. They organise regular swim sessions out of Elmbridge Xcel and Hamtpon Pool, bike, and run sessions, catering to various skill levels.

Based in the London Borough of Sutton, Westcroft Triathlon Club provides training for both

adults and children. They offer swim sessions at Westcroft and Cheam Leisure Centres, spin

classes, and coached run sessions. The club also organises a Couch to Sprint Triathlon program, helping newcomers prepare for their first race. Westcroft is a real community club

which supports its members far beyond triathlon. A truly fun and friendly club! Ful-on Tri (Fulham)

Operating out of Fulham pools and the surrounding areas, this club focuses on inclusivity and personal development. They offer various sessions with volunteer coaches and have a vibrant social scene.

While primarily a running club, Clapham Chasers also supports triathletes with group

training sessions and events, making it a great option for those looking to integrate triathlon

training with running.
